Mental Health in Education
We've got extensive experience in the education sector and have tailored some of our courses for teachers and teaching staff.
Being an experienced senior teacher, Louise has seen first hand the high proportion of school staff with workplace mental health issues. This has led her to develop mental health training courses specifically for those who work within education.
Three Eggs provides three levels of training for primary and secondary schools:
- 45 minute Twilight information sessions-usually held after school in the staff room or hall. These quick tutorials give staff an overview of workplace mental health and key symptoms to look out for in themselves and their colleagues. The purpose of these sessions is to start raising awareness of workplace mental health among all staff and identify those who might be interested in undertaking further training.
These sessions can be bolted together over the course of a school year to give teachers and teaching staff a range of skills and experience in Mental Health and well-being awareness.
- Half day workshops - usually held during a school’s PD day just for staff from one school, or at a central venue on other dates for staff from different schools. The workshops are for a maximum of 16 delegates and cover identifying a range of mental health conditions, how to discuss conditions with those experiencing them and how to signpost professional medical services. The content has been tailored specifically for staff who work in an education environment.
- Two day Mental Health First Aid course - schools usually send 1-3 members of staff on our First Aid for Mental Health course to gain their certificate in First Aid for Mental Health. When they return to school, these individuals become the point of contact for staff experiencing mental health issues themselves, or who have concerns about a colleague. School staff can attend our general courses for employees from various backgrounds, where they will be provided with additional school-specific resources, or our dedicated sessions for those who work in education.
