Learn Online or in Person

Virtual Training Course

Delivered in a group of up to 12 learners, over three two-hour sessions, our trainers bring the topics to life with real examples that illustrate the topics being taught. You’ll be provided with learning resources and a comprehensive training manual to support independent learning between the taught sessions.

Assessment is by demonstration of the first aid action plan for mental health where you’ll have a chance to practice the skills you’ve learnt. You’ll also have an individual professional discussion with the trainer.

In-person Training Course

Our in person course is delivered across two full days, in a group of up to ten other learners. Our trainers bring with them a wealth of knowledge, which they share through examples to illustrate the content being taught. You’ll have the chance to work in small groups to think about how you can put your learning into practice back in the workplace and have a go at holding supportive conversations to prepare you for your role of Mental Health First Aider.

A delicious lunch and full refreshments are provided on both days.

Assessment is by written papers taken at the end of each day so you can demonstrate your knowledge and understanding.

Choose how much you want to learn and when you want to do it

We’ve designed our courses to be completely flexible, giving you the option to choose how far you want to take your knowledge and when you want to learn, to suit your diary.

Each level leads on to the next – you start at level 1 and can then choose to leave it there, or add in level 2 and level 3. If you would like to qualify as a Mental Health First Aider, you complete all three levels.

There are three sequential dates for each set of three courses, so you can train to be a Mental Health First Aider in three weeks (one 2-hour session per week). But if this doesn’t work for you, you can pick three dates across any six-week period (it is a requirement that the qualification is completed within six weeks).

Alternatively, if you want to join one of our Mental Health First Aider courses with three sequential dates already picked by us, choose the Mental Health First Aider Package option, which includes all three levels taught across three weeks.
